Match Results against Beanacre on 11 August 2013

This was captain Bradley's first match as captain, and despite some early nerves he managed to win a toss, and elected to field! GCC opened the bowling with Jon and Andrew both bowled extremely well and restricted the run rate. Sadly this didn't continue too well with Beanacre scoring freely after the drinks break. The last over was when Andrew Rodcliffe managed to get his first ever hat-trick with the last three balls of the innings.

Beanacre CC scored 193 for 8 wickets off 40 overs.

After tea, Captain Bradley took the bold decision to open with a new opening partnership to Saull and Josey, and despite some good bowling, and some dodgy stroke selection GCC where 2 down in about 8 overs, for not many runs. However, in came Mark Webb, who managed to steady the ship with Mark Baker, and despite Mark Baker loosing his wicket, Captain Bradley stepped upto the mark and decided to take the attack to them. So after a few big hits the fielding team lost the initative and GCC gained it. With some solid contributions from Mark Webb, Jon Ceverly and Martyn Foard. After a superb innings of 78 Bradley lost his wicket (after being dropped at least once).

Grittleton CC scored 194 for 6 wickets off 39.2 overs.
